-- Vietnam and Australia co-chaired yesterday a strategic dialogue at deputy ministerial level on diplomatic policy and national defense. The Australian side committed to support Vietnam in the economic integration into the world and the negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal.
-- 120 delegates attending the ASEM conference that opened yesterday in Hanoi discussed solutions for the prevention and rescue efforts in natural disasters.
Society:
-- The prices of roses from the central highland province of Lam Dong have increased from two to three times ahead of the Teachers’ Day on November 20.
-- Tran Van Thanh, director of the national park Yok Don in the central province of Dak Lak, stepped down from the post following a decision of the Vietnam Administration of Forestry. He was previously accused of committing violations in management of the park.
-- 2,270 people who had been accused were proved innocent last year, according to the Government Inspectorate. Last year also had 20 percent of complaints and 15 percent of cases of denouncement that were proved correct.

-- Only one percent of the credit package of VND30 trillion (US$1.44 billion) was disbursed after almost six months since it was announced. The package was meant to support production, real estate, and solutions for bad debts during the economic slowdown.
-- South Korea has officially approved to import fresh mango from Vietnam, making it the second fruit from Vietnam being imported into the nation after blue dragon.
-- Da Lat, the central highland town of Lam Dong Province, is preparing to provide 100 tons of vegetables a day during a period of 20 days to people in the central region which was affected by recent storms and floods.
-- As of 2014, the State Bank of Vietnam will offer financial support to enterprises and individuals for buying agricultural machines and tools. The bank will give loans without interest rate in the first two years and half of the normal interest rate in the third year.
