-- Deputies of the National Assembly have complained about the transparency of investigation agencies since they are still controlling the activities of keeping suspects in custody. A bill has been modified to separate investigation agencies from the activities of keeping suspects in custody.

-- Vietnamese shipping company Song Thu, which is under the management of to the General Department of National Defense Industries, completed building a ship named TSHD 2000 Severnaya Dvina, in accordance with a contract signed with Russian company Rosmorport, and launched it yesterday. The ship was designed by engineers of Damen Corporation from the Netherlands for dredging mud at seaports in northern Russia.
-- State-owned power supplier Vietnam Electricity has said it will work with the Vietnamese Navy this month on the supply of electricity to islands in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
-- Domestic violence cases in Vietnam have dropped since 2012. The family department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reported that there were 41,000 such cases in 2012 and 22,000 ones in 2014. The first six months of this year saw 3,500 cases fewer than the same period last year.
-- The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has decided to set up a coordination board for the supply of safe vegetables and meat to the local markets.
-- The People’s Committee of the northern city of Hai Phong has unveiled a plan to build a new administrative center worth VND10 trillion (US$444.5 million).
