Vietnam wishes to boost energy cooperation with Russia

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said Vietnam will coordinate with Russia to step up multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including in energy.

Dyukov, CEO of Russian oil and gas group Gazprom Neft, in Hanoi on Monday, during which he highly appreciated the efficient cooperation between Gazprom Neft and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in the past time. PM Dung affirmed the Vietnamese Government’s support for cooperation activities between Russian oil and gas enterprises, including Gazprom Neft, with PetroVietnam for both sides’ mutual interests and bolstered multifaceted ties. The Prime Minister also said that he highly values Russian President Putin’s visit to Vietnam on November 12, today, during which 15 cooperation agreements on economics, energy, science-technology, education, health care and military affairs will be signed between the two countries.

Dung said he considers the visit a landmark that will raise the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

For his part, Alexander V. Dyukov informed the Prime Minister about the significant outcomes of his firm’s cooperation with PetroVietnam.

Alexander also expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government will continue to create possible favorable conditions for Gazprom Neft to maintain and expand its investment in Vietnam.
