Here’s the list of this weekend’s entertainment events recommended by Tuoitrenews

Hanoi:

- Precious paintings on Vietnamese traditional costumes and headdresses which were used by the royal members and commoners from Ly dynasty (1009-1225) to Nguyen dynasty (1802 -1945), are being displayed at an exhibition at 14 Phan Huy Ich Street. They will be on show until September 9.

- The exhibition titled “The city – From The Becoming until The Decaying” featuring 176 photos featuring 22 cities around the world is taking place at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street and the Goethe-Institut Hanoi at 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street. It will run to September 14.

- The exhibition featuring Japan’s best-selling collection of photos of Mirai-chan, a little girl with chubby red cheeks, which is taken by Kotori Kawashima, now is still on show. It has been opened for free at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung, Hoan Kiem District until September 15.

- Another exhibition featuring Vietnamese ancient jewelries was opened in the capital city of Hanoi on August 30. Showcasing around 100 jewelries dating back to ancient cultures, the event will run until the end of this year at the Vietnam National Museum of History at 1 Trang Tien Street.

- The second South Korean Film Festival in Vietnam which opened on September 6 in the city will run until September 11. It showcases nine Korean movies, including Fist of Legend,  Deranged, A Wedding Invitation, Dancing Queen, A Werewolf Boy, The Gifted Hands, Tower, and Killer Toon and Pororo: The Racing Adventure at MegaStar Vincom Center at 191 Ba Trieu Street, Hai Ba Trung District.

Ho Chi Minh City:

- Eleven French movies are being screened at a low price of VND40,000 (US$1.9) until September 27 at MegaStar Cineplex. The films include Un Plan Parfait,  Le Petit Nicolas, Une Vie De Chat, Intouchables, The Artist, L’illusionniste, Mauvaise Foi, Le Tableau, De Vrais Mensonges, Liberté and Le Chat Du Rabbin, all of which will be shown in French with Vietnamese subtitles.

Nationwide:

- The annual German Film Festival in Vietnam kicked off from September 5. It consists of more than 50 screenings of 10 acclaimed German movies in German language with Vietnamese and English subtitles or voice-over.

The festival takes place at Hanoi’s National Cinema Center from September 5 to 11, Nha Trang’s Mini cinema – Khanh Hoa Film Center from September 5 to 8, Thai Nguyen’s Nhan Dan Cinema from September 6 to 8, Hai Phong’s Cong Nhan Cinema from September 10 to 15, Hue’s Center for Culture & Information and Lieu Quan Buddhist Cultural Center from September 12 to 18, Da Nang’s Le Do Cinema from September 13 to 18 and concludes at HCMC’s CINEBOX from September 27 to October 3.

Tickets for all the movies are free.
