The American Center under the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City will hold an event titled “Back to School in the USA” to provide Vietnamese students with information on studying in the U.S. on Thursday, the center said Monday on its Facebook page.

According to the organizers, the full-day event is designed to guide Vietnamese students through the decision making process of studying in the U.S. to insure they make personally appropriate decisions that can prepare them to become valuable members of Vietnamese society.

The intended goals of the event are: equipping students with the tools to choose the right U.S. schools that meet their individual needs, providing information about exchange programs and financial aid opportunities, introducing students to available information resources/services at the consulate, informing students about the student visa application process, and preparing students for academic life in the U.S.

Topics to be discussed at “Back to School in the USA” include scholarships, government exchange programs, finding a good school, student visas, and more.

Booths offering information on scholarships to schools in the U.S. will also be present at the event.

Vietnamese alumni of American universities will come to share their experiences and provide insights into student life in America.

“Back to School in the USA” will take place from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the American Center on the 8th floor of Diamond Plaza, at 34 Le Duan Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Students can register for the event via http://backtoschoolopenday.eventbrite.com.
