A Japanese dancer is set to perform her contemporary dance piece in Vietnam over two nights next week, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam has announced on its website.

Yo Nakamura, a 26-year-old dancer, will stage a short contemporary dance entitled “Goodbye” at 8:00 pm on September 24 and 25 at Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theater at 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

The 20-minute dance, performed and choreographed by Nakamura, received praise and won the Jury Prize, as well as the Sibiu International Theater Festival Prize, at the Yokohama Dance Collection 2013.

Nakamura entered the world of contemporary dance through the modern dance club of Waseda University, and started to choreograph by herself in 2010.

Free tickets have been available since September 17 at three venues in Hanoi, including the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District); Goethe Institute (56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh District), and L’Espace (24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District).
