-- Hanoi will create favorable conditions for joint projects between Vietnam and Japan, Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai said as he received Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada in the capital on Friday.

-- The Korea - Vietnam FTA Support Center, managed by the Korea Trade - Investment Promotion Agency, was inaugurated in Hanoi on Friday, two months after the Vietnam - South Korea Free Trade Agreement took effect.

-- Gold prices in Vietnam on Friday dropped to below global rates for the first time in nearly five years, selling at VND34.07 million ($1,535) a tael, compared to VND34.23 million ($1,528) a tael on the global market. (1 tael = 37.5 grams)
