A jazz concert featuring Fabien Mary, considered one of the most gifted and sought-after trumpet musicians in France, and his quartet is set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on April 23 and 24.

The concerts will be held at 8 pm at IDECAF, 24 Le Thanh Ton street in HCMC’s District 1 tomorrow and at 8 pm at L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district, on April 24.

Mary, 35, won the coveted 2003 ‘Django d’Or for Young Talents’ for his first album, ‘Twilight,’ and the 2004 ‘Jazz a Juan Revelation’ prize. He has also been nominated four times by the Jazz Academy as “French Musician of the Year” between 2008 and 2011.

The quartet, founded by Mary himself in 2001 and also consisting of Hugo Lippi (guitarist), Fabien Marcoz (contrabass), and Mourad Benhammou (string), has also garnered remarkable success worldwide.

Tickets are sold for VND120,000 (US$6) and VND100,000 (US$5) in Hanoi and HCMC, respectively, with a 50% discount offered for students at both venues.
