With the works having their own QR codes, visitors can surf and find out what they want to know about the exhibition and works at www.theindochinaproject.com on their smartphones.

Visitors can also enjoy talks over cocktail with foreign artistes including Rah Akaishi (Sri Lanka), Liar Ben (Vietnam) và Peepshow (New Zealand), who will together work on five 2.4m×2.4m wall paintings on different materials and in different styles.

Each wall-painting is a dominant slice on the Indochinese countries, namely Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia along with two neighboring countries Thailand and Myanmar, which accentuate their scenic beauty, cultural uniqueness and links between the past halos and dramatic present changes.

The idea of launching the exhibition was initiated by a group of creative New Zealander youths who are living in Vietnam. They suddenly felt the need to do something to understand more about the country which they “begin to consider home.”

Through the River Orchid Digital, they launched the “Indochina project”, which includes a creativity competition called “The adventure through Indochina” to attract works from freelance artists worldwide on the charming Indochina.

Almost 100 submitted works in various media which depict Indochina in multifaceted perspectives will go on exhibit today.
