House passes four laws, including two on tax

During the on-going fifth session, the 13th National Assembly on Wednesday passed two revised laws on tax and two others on disaster prevention and relief and on defense and security education.

The approved amendments to the Law on Value-added Tax and the Law on Corporate Tax are considered to create considerable supports for businesses to survive the current economic difficulties and challenge. Under the revised Law on Value-added Tax (VAT), 25 groups of beneficiaries are subjected to VAT exemption, while according to the Law on Corporate Tax, a roadmap is set out for lowering the tax rate from 28 percent to 25 percent and 22 percent in the coming years. The two other laws are the Law on National Defense and Security Education and the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Relief. Twenty six deputies presented their opinions, focusing on state management on employment, policies in creating jobs and sending workers abroad, the development of labor market, unemployment insurance and job placement services. Besides, the NA the same day discussed the amendments to the Law on Employment.

Today, June 20, the NA is scheduled to approve the 2011 state budget balance and discuss the revised Law on Bidding. NA deputies will also pass several resolutions, including one on the NA supervisory program for 2014 and some other resolutions.
