In photos: Smuggling goods at Vietnam-Cambodia border gate

Abundant smuggled products have been sneaked into Vietnam through the border gate with Cambodia in the Mekong Delta region as Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) is just days away.  

To learn about how goods in Cambodia are smuggled into Vietnam without the knowledge of local border officials, Tuoi Tre reporter arrived in Ta Mau market near the frontier of Vinh Nguon commune in Chau Doc town.

Ta Mau is believed to be the largest hotspot for smugglers in the Mekong Delta region.

Multiple types of products in large numbers are gathered and classified by day at the Vietnam-Cambodia border gate and are piled into boats and smuggled into Vietnam at night. Sugar and cigarette are the most smuggled products.
