Sunday, November 03, 2013, 16:32 GMT+7

Typhoon Krosa will move west slowly and later may change its direction to move west-southwest before it will weaken into a low pressure area in the next 24 hours, according to the national weather bureau.

As of 1pm on Nov. 4, the low pressure area will be centered 200km north-east of Quang Tri and Quang Ngai provinces in the central region with winds of 50kph to 60kph, said the National Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Center.

In the next 24 to 36 hours, the low pressure area will continue to move west-northwest at a speed of 20kph to 25kph and make landfall in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai central provinces.

As 1am on Nov. 5, the low pressure area is forecast to be centered at 15.3 degrees latitude north and 107.5 degrees longitude east on the border of Vietnam and Laos in the mainland with winds near the eye under 39kph.

Due to the low pressure area, the waters off Hoang Sa Archipelago will experience rough seas and strong winds of up to 61kph as of today evening.

From tomorrow morning (Nov. 4), coastal areas in Quang Binh and Quang Ngai provinces will experience strong winds and heavy rains, according to the center.
