Thirty-five Broadway-style performances directed by a young Vietnamese will sweep through Hanoi in late 2016 and early 2017.

The compendium of three productions, divided into 35 shows, includes ‘Dem He Sau Cuoi’ (Last Night after the Summer), ‘Goc Pho Danh Vong’ (Corner of Fame), and ‘Mong Uoc Khong Xa Voi’ (The Plausible Dream).

The performances are part of the project named ‘Hope’ which aims at providing the audience with a better understanding of Broadway musicals.

The nights will take place in October and November this year and in January 2017 at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District.

According to Nguyen Phi Phi Anh, the 25-year-old director, writer, and producer, each gig will feature 35 young actors and 17 musicians.

Besides some familiar faces who have only taken part in some reality TV shows, most members of the team are potential amateurs.

The first show, ‘Dem He Sau Cuoi,’ will take place on October 4.

Another one, ‘Goc Pho Danh Vong,’ will be showcased one month later.

Both musical performances were previously introduced in 2012 and 2013, receiving positive feedback from the audience.

The third performance, ‘Mong Uoc Khong Xa Voi,’ is a newly-made artwork by Phi Anh.

Tickets are priced from VND200,000 (US$8.97) to VND300,000 ($13.45).
