Canadian duo to rock HCMC next week

Canadian rock duo Japandroids will hit the stage in Ho Chi Minh City with their first show in Vietnam next week.

Formed in 2006 by guitarist - vocalist Brian King and drummer – vocalist David Prowse, Japandroids got reputation in 2009 following the release of their debut album titled “Post-Nothing.” Since then, the group continued to earn more praise for their live performances.

Their second album “Celebration Rock” was released last May in Canada and one month later internationally. The album gained wide praise from critic and made Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 albums of 2012. In 2013, the album made Ballast's list of top 50 Canadian albums of all time.

Local rock bands White Noiz, Joy Oi! and DJ Superkid and British/Thai indie rockers The Standards will also share the stage.

The show will take place at 7m on August 21 at Cargo Bar at 7 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in District 4.
