A Vietnamese photographer has recently taken a series of photos depicting Fuji flowers blossoming and shared them with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.

According to An Van, the author of the photos who lives in Japan, May is the month of Fuji flower festivals.

The most famous places to enjoy the beauty of the climbing flowers are Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi Prefecture’s Ashikaga City and Kawachi Fuji Garden in Fukuoka Prefecture’s Kitakyushu City.

The Kawachi Fuji Garden is famous for its Fuji flower tunnel like a fairy garden, while Ashikaga Flower Park is known as the biggest-scale park growing this kind of flower with more than 350 trees.

The 92,000 square-meter Ashikaga park was built to protect two 150-year-old Fuji flower trees and later became a place to breed the flower.

Among the two ancient trees, the one producing white flowers has been formed into an 80m long tunnel hailed as the world’s beautiful and romantic flower tunnel.

Other highlights at the Ashikaga park also include a 50m-tall house covered with Fuji flowers. Van said flower growers at the Ashikaga park told him that to create beautiful Fuji flower “waterfalls,” besides cultivating, fertilizing and watering in around 10 to 15 years, they have to make a frame for the tree to climb to a height of 20 meters and a span of 10 meters.

The job requires a lot of patience and effort.

According to An Van, he did a research on Fuji flowers and found that the flowers appeared in Vietnam a long time ago.

Fuji flowers were brought to the Central Highlands city of Da Lat by late engineer Luong Van Sau in 1963 and were grown at the city’s Flower Garden. No one has heard about that kind of flower anymore.
