A Vietnamese tourism and cultural festival is scheduled to take place in two cities of South Korea in September, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism announced Thursday on its website.

The “Le hoi Du lich-Van hoa Viet Nam tai Han Quoc 2014” (Vietnamese tourism-cultural festival in South Korea 2014) event will be organized from September 16 to 21 in Seoul and Gwangju.

Held for the fifth time by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the festival is intended to promote Vietnam’s image as well as its special cultural and tourism characteristics to Korean visitors.

It will feature several festivities such as a photo exhibition on Vietnamese landscapes, a workshop to promote the Southeast Asian country’s tourism, an “ao dai” (Vietnamese traditional long gown) fashion show, and traditional music concerts.

The fest was organized for the first time in 2010. Last year, it took place from July 2 to 7 at the Arts Council Korea in Seoul, featuring numerous Vietnamese handicraft products as well as foods.
