Model Truong Nam Thanh is representing Vietnam at the Mr. World male beauty pageant held at the Kent County Showground, Kent, England from November 9 to 24.

Before the final night, contestants have to go through several rounds including sports, talent and fashion.

In the talent round, the 21-year-old model will perform a piece of contemporary dance.

“Nam Thanh is a young model living in Ho Chi Minh City. He likes going to the gym, can perform magic tricks, and has aspirations to become a famous actor in Vietnam. His favorite food is grilled pork with white rice,” the contest’s website said in its introduction of Thanh.

Thanh is in his final year at the HCMC College of Dramatic Arts. In 2010, he participated in the prestigious Vietnam Supermodel Contest, winning the Best Body prize and making it to the top 10.

He also won the “Model Star 2011” held by PL Modeling Agency in HCMC.

Last October, Thanh attended and won the third runner-up title at the Manhunt International modeling contest held in Seoul, South Korea.

Besides strutting on catwalks, he has also starred in TV dramas like “Cuoi Duong Bang” (At The End Of The Runway) “Xin Loi Em Chi La” (Sorry, I’m Just…) and “Cam Hung Hoan Hao” (The Perfect Inspiration).

First held in 1996, Mr. World aims to “search for the world’s most desirable man.” The organization's president is Julia Morley, chairman of the Miss World contest, designed especially for women.

This year, it has attracted around 53 contestants from over the world.
