TripAdvisor® launches local domain website in Vietnam

Thursday, May 01, 2014, 09:55 GMT+7

TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site, yesterday announced the launch of a new local domain website in Vietnam, one of its important markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietnamese travelers can now gain easy access to traveler reviews and ratings on a localized TripAdvisor website, which provides them with more relevant content to help them research and plan their trips more effectively, along with contributing their own reviews and opinions.

“Vietnam is an important market for TripAdvisor in the Asia-Pacific region. With Vietnam becoming a popular tourist destination in its own right, a growing number of Vietnamese are travelling not only to neighboring ASEAN countries but also internationally, and we see a great opportunity to service their travel planning needs”, said Barbara Messing, CMO TripAdvisor.

This year, TripAdvisor launched local sites in South Africa, the Philippines, New Zealand and Austria.

TripAdvisor currently operates in 39 countries with plans to penetrate into new markets during the year.

With over 260 million unique monthly global visitors, TripAdvisor offers tourists worldwide unrivaled access to 150 million reviews and opinions of hotels, restaurants and attractions around the world.
