According to Nguyen Son, head of the market development department at the State Securities Commission (SSC), foreign capital flows into the Vietnamese stock market have dwindled to insignificant levels.

Với sự sụt giảm giá của thị trường chứng khoán thời gian qua, có đến 67% doanh nghiệp niêm yết có thị giá đang thấp hơn giá sổ sách; 38% công ty niêm yết trên sàn HoSE có thị giá dưới mệnh giá.
Specifically, Nguyen Son said that 10% of the companies suffered losses in the first quarter of 2011. The current market liquidity is only 50% of 2010 levels.
