Vietnamese bodybuilder Pham Van Mach yesterday won the gold medal in the Asian Men Bodybuilding 55kg category with his excellent performance at the Asian and World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships in Thailand.
With the previous five gold medals earned in five consecutive years, this sixth gold medal since 2005 Mach reinforces his unequaled position as best-performing bodybuilder in the Asian arena.
The Vietnam’s squad yesterday also grabbed three silvers and five bronzes, including one silver medal in the World Women Fitness Physique category by woman bodybuilder Nguyen Thi My Linh.
Asian and World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championships 2011 takes place from October 5 to 7 at Thai-Japan Youth Center Stadium 2 in Bangkok, attracting competitors from 34 countries worldwide.
Vietnam has sent 15 bodybuilders to the event and aspired to bring home at least one gold medal in the Asian category and one silver in the World Women category.
