Vietnamese prospect Ly Hoang Nam, ranking 58th in the junior’s table of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), was yesterday banned from joining the national team and other tournaments organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) till the end of this year.

According to VTF, the 17-year-old player twice disobeyed the order of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to join the national team.

So, the player, currently ranking 2027th in the Pro Circuit standings of ITF, will miss the 2014 Asian Games to be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4.

His coach, Tran Duc Quynh was also suspended by VTF for two years from May, 2014 to May 1, 2016 for the same reason.

Both the coach Quynh and the player Nam belong to Becamex Binh Duong club.

Nam becomes the first player of Vietnam entering the top 50 of ITF’s junior ranking and Asia’s juniors’ top ten when he ranked 49th last month.
