The Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City has recently become Vietnam’s first public university to be seeking foreign scientists and researchers.

Since the beginning of this year, Ton Duc Thang has run job ads to look for a number of staff members coming from many countries.

The university has received about 25 applications of scientists from various countries and territories, including the U.S., Iran, India, Canada, Greece, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

According to Dr. Le Van Ut, acting head of the school’s science and technology management and development, the recruitment is to develop Ton Duc Thang’s three targeted research fields: basic research, applied research, and transfer research.
