Politics:

-- At the National Assembly’s hearing yesterday in Hanoi, the constitution compiling committee suggested not to establish a constitutional council.

-- The eighth conference of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party targeted at bringing the education and training field of Vietnam to reach advanced level in the region.

Society:

-- Surgeon Nguyen Manh Tuong of the Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi threw the body of a female patient to Hong River after she died at his beauty parlour Cat Tuong.

-- Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc instructed chairmen of People’s Committee and Party Secretary of provinces have to directly negotiate with normal people on the scene to solve issues regarding land clearance for the upgrading and building of the national highways 1 and 14.

-- Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is ruled to have signatures of families before replacing electricity meters.

-- Tax related crimes have been on the increase since 2007 in Vietnam due to the economic slowdown that has badly affected enterprises. Every year, Vietnam has 13,000 cases of economic crimes, including 1,000 cases of tax infringement.

-- Traffic on the highway Lien Khuong – Prenn in the central highland province of Lam Dong has been in disorder due to the increase of traffic violations and the inappropriate design of the road.

-- Ho Chi Minh City will have an Asian Center for Water Researches, which is planned to act as a leading laboratory in Vietnam for studies on water and climatic changes.

Business:

-- The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has suggested to apply a taxation rate of 2 percent on the transfer of real properties. Now it has two levels 2 percent and 25 percent.

-- Vietnam is to tighten on the restructure and inspection of banking system in 2014, according to Ph.D. lecturer Le Xuan Nghia at the conference on global and Vietnam economy that was held yesterday by ANZ Bank.

-- Kurchatov Institute of Russia introduced their technologies of nuclear power at a conference held yesterday in Hanoi. Vietnam is expected to decide the location and technology for the construction of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant in December.

Lifestyle:

-- An exhibition to feature 39 architectural solutions for urban space is open in Hanoi, at No.9 Tran Thanh Tong Street.

-- Hanoi to host the 50th Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Festival from October 23-29 to discuss the prospect of the broadcasting and television field in the digital era.
