It’s never too late to learn. Retired teacher Mai Anh Dung last Saturday took the entrance exam for post-graduates at the age of 64 at the Ho Chi Minh City Ton Duc Thang University for the fifth time. Dung said he was a chemistry teacher at a high school. Since retiring from that school, he has been teaching at Trung Lap high school in the city’s Cu Chi district, and the Petrus Ky high school in Binh Duong province. “Previously I taught secondary school. Then I studied at university for seven years before becoming a high school teacher,” he said. “After retirement, I have had more time to study for a post-graduate degree. I am of age so I should learn more and make my mind exercise.” Dung said he had tried hard the previous four times, but did not succeed. Last Saturday, at 4.30, he rode from his house in Cu Chi district to the university in District 7. After that, he rented a place near the school to stay and continue to take the exam the next day.
