Two dangerous prisoners escaped from their correctional facility in the central province of Quang Ngai on Sunday.

The two convicts are Nhan Van Tuan and Trieu Quan Su, police in Binh Son District said Tuesday.

Nhan Van Tuan, a 30-year-old from the northern province of Ha Giang, was arrested on January 9, 2013 for robbery, fraud and assault, and is serving a jail term of 28 years 11 months and 25 days.

Trieu Quan Su, 24, who lived in the northern province of Thai Nguyen, was captured on August 24, 2012 and sentenced to life in prison for murder, robbery and desertion.

Both of them were serving their sentences in a military prison in Quang Ngai and broke out of their cells by sawing through the bars of the prison windows.

Police are working with relevant authorities to hunt for the two inmates and their exact whereabouts is still unknown, Le Tan Hiep, head of the local police department, said.

Local authorities suggest that everyone stay alert, for the two convicts are highly dangerous and might attack innocent people any time.
