Police in Ho Chi Minh City are investigating the alleged fatal shooting of a local man who was found dead at home after multiple gunshots were heard by his neighbors on Sunday.

Officers are looking into the case of a man, whose identity has yet to be determined, who died in his home after allegedly being shot, Nguyen Sy Quang, spokesperson for the municipal Department of Police, said yesterday evening.

Preliminary reports said that locals heard gunshots from a house at 230 Nguyen Thi Nho Street, Ward 4, District 11.

Some rushed to the address and saw a man about 40 years old lying motionless. Police were called to the scene to investigate and take statements from neighbors, who claimed that the dead man had rented the house to run a small business for the last two years.

Witnesses said three gunshots were heard before two men fled from the house on a motorbike.

Quang said the man was possibly killed over a personal conflict rather than a robbery.
