Two young men, Huynh Ba Nhat and Tran Duong Anh are currently cycling through Vietnam to raise money for their friend Nguyen Minh Tan, who suffers from Wilson syndrome.
Beginning at Saigon’s Notre Dame Basilica on April 1, 2016, their final destination is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi. The expense of the journey is partly covered by the cyclists’ own savings.
During their trip, the duo will offer bike repairs and maintenance in the places they pass by, with money made going to their friend, and to cover the journey’s expense.
Over the course of their journey, the two cyclists will visit the remembrance monument of the late secretary Nguyen Ba Thanh of the Da Nang City Party Committee, Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery, and the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua - Yen Island in Quang Dong Commune of Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province.
After those places, the cyclists will visit the four most famous passes of the northwestern area of Vietnam, namely Ma Pi Leng, Khau Pha, O Quy Ho, and Pha Din. It is estimated that the total journey will take them 45 days.
