Epghenhi, who was stabbed in the throat by his friend in the beachside city of Nha Trang on Thursday, has died at hospital.

Doctors at the Khanh Hoa General Hospital, where Epghenhi had been treated, confirmed his death on Saturday afternoon.

His body is now being preserved at the hospital’s mortuary, they added.

The Russian Embassy and the victim’s family have been informed of his death.

Police in Nha Trang said they will file murder charges against the killer, who left the scene immediately after his crime.

Police at all border gates in Vietnam have been ordered to prevent Alexandre, the murderer, leaving from Vietnam.

According to Russian eyewitnesses, at about 2am on May 16, Alexandre and Epghenhi had a heated argument and were later involved in a bloody scuffle as they were drinking at a wasteland near Sailing bar in Nha Trang.

As the result, Epghenhi had his carotid artery cut off. Some other Russians were injured during the scuffle as they tried to reconcile the men.

The eyewitnesses added the duo is best friends and often together traveled to many countries. They rented a hotel room in Sheraton hotel during their vacation in Nha Trang.

Just hours before their fight, they had arrived at Sailing bar and talked to a group of Russians, they said.
