Monday, November 16, 2015, 19:15 GMT+7

An event featuring education and career orientation will be organized by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

The event, to take place at the American Center in District 1, is meant to save time and energy for Vietnamese students and families in getting information on studying in the United States and finding a job after graduation.

It is designed to guide the participants through the decision-making process to ensure the choices are best for them.

The program will include a variety of activities such as presentations, quizzes, games, roundtable discussion, and an exhibition.

It aims to equip students with the tools to choose the right U.S. schools that meet their individual needs, and to provide information about U.S. government exchange programs and scholarship opportunities.

The full-day event will also introduce students to free information resources and services at the consulate, as well as demystify the student visa application process, and prepare students for the job market after graduation.

Information will be provided by U.S. Consul General Rena Bitter, consular officers, EducationUSA advisors, headhunters, exchange program and scholarship managers, and alumni working at American companies in Vietnam.

The education and career orientation is slated to last from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on November 17 at the American Center on the 8th floor, Diamond Plaza, 34 Le Duan Street, District 1.

Attendees are required to bring their ID cards for check-in.
