One victim was killed, four injured and two others missing in a strong explosion that happened at around 4:00pm today at a manufacturing company in District 12 of Ho Chi Minh City.
Tens of houses in the radius of 50 meters of the explosion were either collapsed or damaged.
Fire prevention policemen arrived at the site soon after the incident, which occurred at the Dang Huynh Company, located at No.46, Street TA19, Thoi An Ward in District 12.
Traces of chemicals were found in the rubble, according to senior lieutenant colonel Pham Van Hung, vice head of the rescue office of Ho Chi Minh City Fire Prevention Department.
A deep hole at the size of 2x3m was also found at the scene of the explosion.
The dead victim was identified as Nguyen Thi Cam Tu, 19. The four injured include Nguyen Thi Thuy Van, 30; Pham Thi Thuy Duong, 14; Doan Hung, 46; and Nguyen Van Xuc in the age of 70s.
The two missing are Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thanh, 30; and Huynh Thi Tam, 36.
