-- The bodies of three missing victims have been found after a fishing boat exploded near Phu Quoc Island off the southern Vietnamese province of Kien Giang on Friday evening, Colonel Pham Quang Oanh, Commissar of the 4th Regional Command affirmed on Sunday night.

-- According to Nguyen Tien Dung, chairman of the People’s Committee in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa, local fishermen have discovered a chair suspected to belong to Vietnam’s fighter jet Su-30MK2, which crashed into the ocean on June 14.

-- Police in Tien Giang Province, located in the Mekong Delta, announced on Sunday that they were probing a case in which one young man was killed and another critically injured after being attacked by a group of five men on Saturday.

-- A woman in the southern province of Tay Ninh was found burnt to death while her husband hanged himself at their home on Sunday morning. The couple sold lottery tickets for a living and often had a row with each other, according to their neighbors.

-- Four suspects have been detained after stealing dozens of mobile phones from the spectators at a football game in the southern province of Binh Duong, officers stated on Sunday.

-- Exports of Vietnamese fruits to the United States, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand in the first six months of 2016 have soared by 81 percent year-on-year, according to the Plant Protection Department.

-- Farm-raised clams have died en masse in the southernmost province of Ca Mau, costing locals up to billions of dong (VND1 billion = $44,780). Initial investigation showed that the deaths happened due to prolonged and heavy rain in the locality, said an official.

-- The first sod was turned on Sunday at Vietnamese corporation Vingroup’s two new resort complexes in the north-central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

-- A comprehensive inspection is expected to be conducted of a Hong Kong-invested paper making complex in the southern Vietnamese province of Hau Giang, following concern over possible dangers it poses to the local environment, according to Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha.
