Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan said he hopes that the two armies of Vietnam and India will continue intensifying training and delegation exchanges.

The senior officer made the statement while receiving visiting Director General of Military Training under the Indian Army Lieutenant General Rajiv Bhalla in Hanoi on Monday, January 20.

Tuan said he believed that the visit by the Director General of Military Training will offer a chance for the two armies to exchange experience in personnel training and combat techniques in forest areas. Vietnam never forgets the support, both material and spiritual, from India’s armed forces and people during its struggle for national liberation, Tuan said.

For his part, General Bhalla said that in the time to come, the two armies will realize agreements reached during his visit to Vietnam. He also expressed his delight at the achievements gained by Vietnam in its renovation process in the past years.
