Germany supports social projects in Thua Thien-Hue

Germany will continue assisting the central province of Thua Thien-Hue in education, heritage preservation, bomb and mine clearance, resettlement, and coping with natural disasters in more appropriate forms.

German State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz made the statement at a meeting with the Thua Thien-Hue People’s Committee on October 12.

In the meantime, the German Federal Foreign Office is sponsoring a poverty reduction and bomb and mine clearance project in the province.

The German side is also funding a project to restore the interior of the Ta Vu (Mandarins’ House) in Hue Royal Palace in the 2012-2013 period. The 139,660 EUR project is the fourth in Germany ’s international assistance package for the preservation of Hue former imperial city.

Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue People’s Committee Nguyen Van Cao said Germany ’s assistance has significantly boosted the locality’s socio-economic development.
