Two provinces and a city in central Vietnam unveiled Friday a joint campaign to promote tourism in the region, which is home to many beautiful beaches and world heritage sites.

Thua Thien – Hue Province, Quang Nam Province, and Da Nang City will launch a program to introduce the areas as the “destinations of paradise-like beaches, islands, and world heritage sites,” the organizers said at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was held to introduce the new tourism products of the three localities to travel agencies in the southern metropolis.

Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Nam, and Da Nang collectively welcomed more than 14 million tourists in 2014, according to The Saigon Times Online.

In 2015 the three promise to treat tourists to a number of new attractions, festive activities, and tourism packages.

Da Nang will introduce new river tours, officially open the DHC Marina cruise port and entertainment complex Helio, and inaugurate many new services at Ba Na Hills and Asia Park Da Nang.

The city is also preparing for the annual Danang International Fireworks Competition 2015, with the participation of South Africa, Poland, Australia, the U.S., and Vietnam.

In the meantime, Quang Nam will offer eight new travel packages and a special tour allowing holidaymakers to experience 1.3km of the historic Ho Chi Minh trail. The province already opened a new beach, Ha Thanh, in Tam Ky District and the Loc Yen ecosystem village in Tien Phuoc District.

In Hue, the capital of Thua Thien – Hue, besides the renowned Hue Festival, there will be two new fests held to promote traditional crafts and the culture, sports and tourism of the ethnic minorities.

Thua Thien-Hue is known for the UNESCO-recognized Complex of Hue Monuments in Hue City. The complex was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1993, and welcomed its 30 millionth visitor and 12 millionth international tourist at the end of last year.

Quang Nam is home to Hoi An Ancient Town, the My Son sanctuary, and beautiful beaches. The Hoi An old town and the My Son relic were both declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.

Da Nang, Vietnam’s central hub, led the “World’s Destinations on the Rise" category of the 2014 Travelers’ Choice Awards given by travel site TripAdvisor.

The city’s Non Nuoc beach, along with Cua Dai in Hoi An, were named in the “Top 25 Best Beaches in Asia” category of the same award program.
