Vietnamese filmmakers are among talents urged to hand in their applications for the ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator: FLY2014 filmmaking training workshop to be held in Myanmar in November.

The event is co-organized by the Busan Film Commission, the Myanmar Motion Picture Development Department and the Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet).

It seeks to nurture the future leaders of the Asian film industry by discovering young aspiring film talents from the 10 ASEAN countries and Korea, as well as to establish a stable filmmaking infrastructure in the region which can contribute to future productions of diverse films in Asia.

Vietnamese interested and passionate filmmakers born between 1990 and 1998 can apply for a place in the workshop by sending their portfolios to the Vietnam Cinema Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at 147 Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District.

Applicants are required to have experience in making at least two short films, documentaries and/or videos; be fluent in English; and have no experience in any of the programs of the Busan International Film Festival-Asian Film Academy.

Airfare, accommodation, meals and all training courses will be provided for all selected trainees.

FLY2014 is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 24 in Bagan and Yangon.
