-- Nghe An police Sunday indicted and put Nguyen Cong Hoang, 22, in a 4-month custody for “attacking law enforcement officer on duty”. On October 27 Hoang was pulled over by a traffic cop but instead of stopping by, Hoang crashed his motorbike into the officer, breaking his leg.

-- Two youths suspected of suffering mental illness were Sunday killed as a train crossed the railway where they were sleeping on in Tam Ky City of Quang Nam Province.

-- Cao Hoang The Vu, 41, and his family returned to home in Ho Chi Minh City’s Phu Lam B Residential Area earlier Sunday after a weekend trip only to find the three-story house had been broken in to and a huge number of valuable assets vanished.

-- Nguyen Van Dung, 30 , was Sunday arrested by District 5 police after he splashed acid directly towards five women as they stepped out of a house on Nguyen Van Cu Street. It is reported that Dung intended to attack only one of the five victims out of jealousy.

-- A kaolin mine in Lam Dong Province suddenly collapsed on Sunday, killing two drivers of an excavator and a van who were working inside the mine at the time of the accident.

-- Le Thi Thuy Hoa, deputy judge of the People’s Court of District 2, Sunday found the wall of her house to be splashed with red paint, while the yard is full of broken glass fragment. Eyewitnesses who are street sweepers said they saw three unidentified young men committed the act at around 0:15am.

-- Apple snail, or golden snail,  a serious threat to rice production and the native ecosystem, has become sought-after again after a long time in the Mekong Delta with traders in Bac Lieu paying high to source large amount of the pests to sell to China for mysterious reason.

-- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism introduced Sunday a new decree stipulating the etiquette organizations and companies must follow when organizing ceremonies or anniversaries event. -- Hosts Binh Duong successfully defended their championship at the BTV Cup 2013 friendly tournament after beating Vietnam’s U-23 national football team 1-0 at the finale on Sunday.

-- VFF chief Nguyen Trong Hy confirmed that Hoang Van Phuc will continue to be the head coach of the Vietnam’s U-23 national football team after the friendly tournament BTV Cup 2013 wrapped up on Sunday. Earlier Phuc has been suspended as the federation said he had directed the players to play unenthusiastically at the tournament.
