Tuoi Tre recommends some entertainment events for this weekend
Hanoi
- L’Espace will screen the movie “Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia” at 8pm on January 10 in French with Vietnamese subtitles at 24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District.
- An exhibit titled “Abilight” showcasing large mural paintings by a Japanese couple is running through February 16 at the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange, 27 Quang Trung.
- Works by young established Vietnamese painters are also on display at the Embassy of Denmark in Hanoi at 19 Dien Bien Phu Street until the end of next month.
Ho Chi Minh City
- Nearly 500,000 LED lights have been used for the “Japanese Colors” festival at Celadon City Park in Tan Phu District. The lights are turned on from 6pm to 10pm every day, and the display will last until February 14.
- Belgian-Israeli pianist Edna Stern will give a recital titled “The Enlightened Piano” at IDECAF at 8pm on January 11 at 28 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1.
Nationwide
- An exhibit titled “Vietnam’s Examination Traditions” is running in Hue until the end of this month at Hue Royal Palace, featuring nearly 60 archival photos on education and exam taking practices spanning from 1075 to 1919.
- Over 150 antiques from Southeast Asian countries are on display at Can Tho City Museum until the end of April at an exhibition titled “Antiques from some Southeast Asian countries.”
- Blockbusters including Disney’s “Frozen,” “47 Ronin,” “The Hobbit 2,” and “Tarzan” will continue to be screened in cinemas across the country this weekend.
