Fire blazes up at Diana diaper factory in northern Vietnam

A fire blazed up at 2:30pm today at the Diana diaper factory that is located in the northern Bac Ninh Province of Vietnam. No casualty has been reported.

According to witnesses, the fire started flaring up at the diaper producing zone of the factory in Tan Chi Commune of Tien Du District when workers were in their second working shift of the day.

Soon later, the flare covered the entire factory with a total area of almost 4,000 square meters, and reduced it to ashes at 5:00pm.

18 fire fighting vehicles were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire.

At 6:50pm, the fire was put under control but was not completely extinguished yet.

The US$100 million factory is located on an area of 10 hectares and is estimated to employ 3,000 workers by the end of next year.
