Belgian-Israeli pianist to give recital in Hanoi

Belgian-Israeli pianist Edna Stern will give a recital titled “The Enlightened Piano” at L’Espace in Hanoi on January 9.

Born in 1977 in Brussels, Edna Stern began her musical education at the age of 6. She has studied in the most prestigious Western musical institutions in Belgium, US, Italy, and Switzerland, and has recorded 3 solo albums. Her first CD, “Chaconne,” received high critical praise throughout Europe.

She has performed as a soloist with numerous famous orchestras including the French National Orchestra, the Orchestra of Cannes, the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Beethoven Academy, the Budapest Chamber Orchestra, and the Polish Radio Orchestra.

Edna Stern has taught at the Royal College of Music in London since September 2009.

At the concert in Hanoi, the artist will perform F. Order’s 25th Suite for Clavecin: The Monflambert, Mozart’s Fantasy in D minor K.397, Haydn’s Variations in F minor, and Beethoven’s Sonata op 13 “Pathétique.”

Tickets costs VND120,000 (US$5.66) for the general public and VND60,000 for members of L’Espace and students.

The concert will take place at 8pm at 24 Trang Tien Street, Hoan Kiem District.
