A well known Australian fingerstyle guitarist will give a performance in Hanoi late this month, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said this week on its website.
Tommy Emmanuel, who has long been known for his outstanding fingerstyle technique, will enthrall Hanoians in a concert at 8:00 pm at the Tuoi Tre (Youth) Theater on October 21.
This is part of Emmanuel’s tour this month, during which he is scheduled to stage concerts in various countries and territories, including Malaysia, China, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan.
The Hanoi concert is expected to satisfy music lovers, especially professional and amateur guitarists, in Vietnam.
Tommy Emmanuel, best known for his complex fingerstyle technique and energetic performances, was born in 1955 in Australia.
He started to play the guitar at the age of four and has spent more than five decades playing this musical instrument.
Emmanuel also works as a songwriter and occasional singer.
This is the third time Vietnamese have had the chance to enjoy a fingerstyle guitar concert.
The previous events, which both took place this year, included shows by Sungha Jung, a guitar prodigy from South Korea, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and the 2015 International Fingerstyle Guitar Festival.
According to the organizers, the concerts aim at promoting this guitar genre in Vietnam and developing a cultural community which allows people to have a closer approach to high value art forms.
