Did you forget where you had parked your motorbike and are now searching for it?
A motorbike has been found parked by a street in northern Vietnam with a huge amount of cash in the storage space under the seat, but no one has shown up to claim the fortune.
Police offers in Luong Son District of Hoa Binh Province were on a patrol on Sunday when they came across the vehicle left by the street.
As no one came to get the bike, the police officers decided to take it to their station and found around VND1.6 billion (US$73,496) worth of cash in the storage space under its seat, Bach Chi Dien, head of the Luong Son police unit, said Wednesday.
Officers have kept both the vehicle and the money and booked the case for investigation, Dien added.
Luong Son police said the bike was registered in Hanoi and they asked their colleagues in the capital to verify the registration of the vehicle to find its owner.
A Hanoi traffic police officer told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Wednesday the bike, which is a silver-black Yamaha, was registered under the name of C.T.D., who was said to reside in Bac Tu Liem District in the capital city.
A Tuoi Tre correspondent came to the address included in the registration, but local officials said there is no one named C.T.D. in the area.
As of Wednesday morning, nobody has come to claim the bike, according to Luong Son police.
The bike is said to belong to someone working for a drug trafficking ring.
