A community project encouraging young applicants to suggest a creative approach to ‘renew’ Ho Chi Minh City’s public spaces and streets is now open for submissions.
Saigon Makeover 2016, centered on children, requires entries to be unique, aesthetically pleasing, and attractive to children.
To enter, applicants must take a photo of municipal public spaces of their choice, present their redesign idea using both graphic tools and written documents, then send the entry to saigonmakeover.info@gmail.com between March 19 to April 23.
It is encouraged that the idea should be youth-centered and bring the young generation an open, comfortable public space for entertainment and relaxation.
Twenty submissions that meet five criteria including originality, aesthetic, creativity, impact, and feasibility will be chosen to move on to a second round.
One first prize worth VND20 million (US$914) and two second prizes worth VND10 million each will be announced on June 4.
