The two latest models of the Apple iPhone will be officially available in Vietnam via the authorized dealer Viettel starting November 15.
On Monday, the military-run network operator announced the official prices for its iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, as well as the old iPhone 4S 8GB.
Viettel said it will be selling the iPhone 5S 16GB at VND15.79 million (roughly US$750), while the 32GB and 64GB editions will fetch VND18.19 million and VND20.59 million respectively.
The budget iPhone 5C, meanwhile, will be available at VND13.39 million for the 16GB edition, and VND15.79 million for the 32GB one.
Prices are the same for all color versions.
The iPhone 4S 8GB is now on sale at only VND9.69 million.
All of the above products are sold with a 12-month warranty as per Apple policy.
Viettel is the first network operator to officially distribute the iPhone 5S and 5C in Vietnam. Its rival Vinaphone has also announced on its website that it will soon distribute the devices but no official date has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, another retailer and distributor, FPT, will also join the game later this week via its FPTShop chain, but information on how much they will cost remains undisclosed.
Previously, local consumers could only buy new iPhone models from traders who brought them from Hong Kong or Singapore to Vietnam as personal belongings via airplanes.
These products are expensive but their prices are expected to drop when the authorized dealers begin their sales.
