The National Geographic International Photo Exhibition to mark the 125th anniversary of the National Geographic magazine is being held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Titled “The Power of Photography,” the exhibition jointly held by Canon and National Geographic features over 100 images by renowned photographers from around the world and 30 photos taken from the 2012 EOS Young Photographer Awards.

The event will run at the Crescent Shopping Mall in District 7 until November 7.

Also within the framework of the 125th anniversary, National Geographic is also launching an Asia wide contest named “Explore to Inspire,” welcoming Vietnamese photographers as well as young talents across the region from Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The contest, which is aimed squarely at talented youngsters in need of nurturing and development, receives entries until the end of November.

The winner will have a chance to attend a four day photo conference in San Francisco organized by National Geographic and receive a Canon EOS 5D MKIII camera. Winning images will be published in the March 2014 Asia edition of National Geographic magazine.
