Walmart wants to import Vietnamese goods for overseas markets

A senior officer of Walmart has expressed his desire to import Vietnamese goods for its chain in the US and other overseas markets in a recent meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in Hanoi.

Mr. Bill Fouldy, Vice President in charge of global sourcing of Walmart, said the move will contribute to promoting cooperative relations between Vietnam and the United States, in the spirit of the agreement on comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh has appreciated the intention of Walmart for purchasing goods for Vietnam to supply Walmart retail store chain in the U.S. market and some other countries, as it will help boost trade relations of the two nations .

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ninh also expressed his pleasure that the relations between Vietnam and United States continued to see more positive developments, in which the United States is the leading trade partner and American businesspeople are the 7th largest group of foreign investors in Vietnam.

The two sides are actively negotiating for the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreements, he added.
