The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) will collaborate with Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper to carry out an annual program to give tips to students across the country before they sit for the national exam, whose results will be used for their high school graduation and university admissions.

The program, which is named “Tu Van Tuyen Sinh 2015” and is in its 13th year, will include 18 consulting sessions and three educational festival days which will last from the end of December to late March in 20 provinces and cities.

Local educational experts will join a tour around the nation to answer questions from students and parents on regulations related to university majors, enrollment and career orientation.

Consultants will also reply queries on the changes to university admission policies for 2015.

Unlike previous years, the high school graduation and university entrance exams will be merged into one test, called the “National Exam,” which will be administered in June.

According to Decision No. 3538/QĐ-BGDĐT, as of 2015, students will only take a national exam, also called the national high school exam, instead of the traditionally separated high school graduation and university entrance tests.

The results of the national exam will be used for both high school graduation and university admissions.

Previously, students who finished 12th grade had to take a high school graduation exam with MoET tests on mathematics, literature and two other subjects chosen by the test-takers from physics, chemistry, biology, geography, and history.

The “Tu Van Tuyen Sinh 2015” program is scheduled to kick off on December 27 at 7:30 am and 2:00 pm in the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum and Gia lai, respectively.

The central province of Binh Dinh will be the third locality to host the program on the morning of December 28 before it runs in other cities and provinces.

Tuoi Tre Online has also launched a page at tuyensinh.tuoitre.vn where students can look for information related to the exam.
