A 16-year-old Vietnamese – American boy has recently become famous after his parody video of a Beyonce song went viral and received compliments from the original performer.
On July 8 Ton Do Nguyen, from Pennsylvania, posted a parody video of a song performed by his idol, Beyonce, on Youtube. In the shot-to-shot remake of the video “Countdown”, Ton wears a snuggie and copies every single dance move and gesture of the famed female singer.
In the nearly three weeks since the video was uploaded on the video sharing site, it has received around 500,000 views with more than 7,500 likes from Youtube users, and also the attention of Beyonce, who calls the work “brilliant.”
The singer later took Ton’s parody to her official website with the compliment, “I think he did this video better than I did. Love B.”
Beyouce’s fan recounts that he screamed when he saw the post.
After Beyonce, other famous name like blogger Perez Hilton and Harry Shum Jr, an actor from Fox’s renowned musical TV series "Glee," also praised the video.
“It's so tiring, and do you know what it's like to be in a Snuggie in the middle of July?" Ton told MTV. “I’m so glad that all the hard work paid off, so glad that it’s all happening. I’ve never expected it to be happening.”
