-- Vietnam’s Minister of National Defense General Ngo Xuan Lich, leading a high-ranking military delegation, left for a three-day official visit to Myanmar on Sunday.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City food safety watchdog on Sunday proposed destroying 3,750 pigs found to be sedated prior to slaughtering last week, instead of keeping them until the drug completely excretes from their bodies.

-- Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports in the Jan-Sep period are estimated at US$2.64 billion, surging 44.2 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported.

-- Many facilities in Da Lat are ‘washing’ the origin of Chinese potatoes by coating them with the red dirt typical of Vietnam’s Central Highlands and putting them into packages labeled a made-in-Da Lat delicacy.

-- Vietnam’s international arrivals topped 9.4 million in the Jan-Sep period of this year, up 28.4 percent against the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

-- Vinfast, the car-making arm of Vietnam’s leading property developer Vingroup, has introduced 20 concept designs for its sedan and SUV, rendered by four famous car design firms Pininfarina, Torino, Zagto and ItalDesign. The Vinfast manufacturing plant is under construction in the northern city of Hai Phong and is expected to produce the first batch of products by September 2019.
