A top official from the Lao journalism agency led a delegation of visitors to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday, touring the Vietnamese daily’s headquarters and studying its news production procedures.
After a reception by Tuoi Tre leaders, Somsavath Phongsa, Deputy Director of the Lao Press Department, and Lao journalists were briefed on the daily paper’s news production and had many questions.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre’s acting editor-in-chief Le The Chu, Phongsa asked him how his newspaper can maintain growth in both print and digital publications.
In response, Chu said it is an issue for news organizations around the world to maintain growth in print and digital media.
“Tuoi Tre is presently a high-quality print daily in the Vietnamese press,” Chu said. “Besides cementing this position, we are also finding new solutions to boosting our online publication, Tuoi Tre Online, in order to make it one of the leading news websites in Vietnam.”
Following a brief discussion, the visiting journalists toured Tuoi Tre’s media convergence model, where the teams in charge of print, online and social media work in one newsroom to ensure seamless news production across all publications.
