-- Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam received Min Gab Ryong, deputy commander of Korean National Police Agency, in Hanoi on Thursday, suggesting that the two sides enhance cooperation in crime combat and criminal justice.

-- Australia hopes to boost pragmatic cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially economy, trade, and education-training, visiting Australian Governor-General Peter Cosgrove said as he was received by Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong in Hanoi on Thursday.

-- A VND4,000 billion (US$175.6 million) project to build a ten-kilometer route connecting the National Route 51 with Cai Mep port in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau broke ground on Thursday.

-- The famous Prenn Fall resort in the Central Highlands City of Da Lat has been accused of animal abuse for allegedly not guaranteeing living conditions for the wildlife fostered at the place.

-- Vietnam’s taxi industry is seeing its market share shrinking rapidly, against the sharp development of app-based competitors. The number of cabs in the country dropped from 12,600 units in 2010 to 8,500 in April 2018, while ride-hailing cars rose from only 177 in 2014 to over 34,500.

-- Vietnamese lender Techcombank will list on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange on June 4, valued at VND149 trillion ($6.54 billion) at the reference price.

-- Money from domestic and foreign investors poured into Vietnamese start-ups are increasing dramatically, with $291 million channeled into 92 projects in 2017, Vietnam Software Association’s representative said at an event in Hanoi on Thursday.
